How many hours are required to change a heater core in a 1998 Dodge ram pickup?

i have changed a few of those and the best i can do on one with no interruptions is about 6-8 hours to do the complete job, that's counting pulling it in the shop and backing it out when im done, but like i said with no interruptions and that's hard to do these days,id allow a full day just in case something doesn't go the way it should and believe me that will happen, good luck. How many hours are required to change a heater core in a 1998 Dodge ram pickup?By yourself, about three hoursHow many hours are required to change a heater core in a 1998 Dodge ram pickup? Give yourself a good full day for that job and one way to find out if you're looking to replace the heater core with a cheap used one is go to the big do it yourself auto wreckers and pull one out , just be sure to have it pressured checked via the wreckers or a rad shop bec the extra 20 or 30 bucks to have them tested is well worth the headaches , plus have them perform a long pressure test.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way be care with the small hoses that go onto the heater cores bec mostly the pipes that come out of the heater core and connect to the hoses are plastic. How many hours are required to change a heater core in a 1998 Dodge ram pickup?

An experienced tech with all the tools??? three hours. If you have never done this kind of job and have few tools... two days, remember that you need to disconnect the A/C lines, be very careful with the shifter indicator cable that runs under the steering column, disconnect that before dropping the steering column, good luck
