How hard is it to Change a Heater Core in a 2001 Dodge Ram, 1500, 318. Does the steer column have to come off?

for a mechanic, its a 2 or 3 hour job. if you have never done it, it will take you a day. you have to remove the dash, lay the steering column on the floor, remove the heater box, then remove the core. you have to recover and recharge the a/c to get the healer box out.How hard is it to Change a Heater Core in a 2001 Dodge Ram, 1500, 318. Does the steer column have to come off?you have to loosen the steering column but not remove it but it will easier if you remove all the dash unit to get it out and its also easier to put them back with this removed,that's not an easy job though no matter how you look at it,its not easy for anyone ,take your time and have a really good repair manual on hand when you do this it will give real good details on how to do it,good luck with it.How hard is it to Change a Heater Core in a 2001 Dodge Ram, 1500, 318.
